It feels as though people make the most inappropriate comments when you’re pregnant. Any innocuous comment can seem like the most outrageous insult thanks to raging hormones. With my first pregnancy, I was six months pregnant when a dressmaker who was fitting me for a dress told me that I barely looked pregnant. I came home and cried my eyes out thinking something must be wrong with my baby if I was barely showing. With my second and third pregnancies, I was told many times over how ‘big’ I was – which, of course, made me feel unattractive, miserable and just plain fat.

It’s important to remember that every woman carries differently and unless you are planning to say to a pregnant woman how beautiful, glowing and lovely they look, it’s probably best not to say anything at all.

At Bundle-O-Joy we have carefully sourced maternity essentials in neutral, mostly dark colours. They are chosen to flatter your bump. If you look good, there’s a better chance you’ll feel good. In turn, those inappropriate comments may not seem so bad!
