We are very pleased to introduce Jennie Henley, our Pregger of the Month for March.  Jennie will be a bit further along now as her feature was completed at the beginning of March.  She would love for you to follow her pregnancy blog as her journey continues!!

How far along are you?

Today (4th March) I am 31 weeks and 1 day pregnant.  I count every single day. When you have given birth at 27 weeks and 3 days then in your next pregnancy every hour of every day counts.

Have you got any other children or is this the first?

I am a proud Mummy of 19 month old twins. Esther and William were born at 27 weeks and 3 days gestation after I had to have emergency surgery for a twisted bowel.  Their prematurity does nto seem to have affected them too much. They are both beautiful walking, talking, car mad toddlers.  They love books and playing outside.

What are you most excited about?

I am very excited about having a term baby (fingers crossed).  I am very excited about the possibility of having a water birth and mostly I am excited about the prospect of being able to bring my baby home with me.

What are you most nervous about?

I am nervous about the birth. Although Esther and William were delivered naturally they were tiny weighing a little over 2lbs each. I am worried about how it will be giving birth to a larger baby.  I am worried about coping with three children under the age of two.  I am worried that I will not be able to breastfeed. I found breastfeeding the twins so easy that I will be heart broken if I cannot feed Matilda May.

Most inappropriate pregnant remark made to you?

The last time I was pregnant, a few days after I had given birth to the twins, my parents each separately remarked on how I looked like I might still have two more babies inside me. I did not think that was the best thing to say to someone who had just given birth and been through abdominal surgery.

Have you found it difficult to stay stylish while pregnant?

I have lived in leggings and long tops.  It is hard in winter I think to have a pretty pregnancy.  I am glad that Spring is on the way and I can begin to wear maxi skirts with maternity / nursing camisoles and dresses too.  Not sure what is going to be best to wear for the final few weeks as I have never been this pregnant before.

What are you most enjoying about your pregnancy?

I love my bump. I love showing it off. I love it when people notice and compliment me.  I love feeling the baby move.  I love that Esther is beginning to grasp that there is a baby in mummy’s tummy. I feel proud to be growing a brand new life inside of me. I am enjoying experiencing my first third trimester!

What is your biggest gripe?

Definitely restless legs. I get them most evenings and I hate it. No amount of bananas seems to ease the wriggliness! Thankfully it is early evenings and so has not stopped me sleeping. I think that I am lucky in that respect.

Have you had any crazy cravings?

I am very disappointed that I have not had any crazy cravings.  I have drunk a lot of coca cola and eaten a lot of chocolate biscuits but I don’t think they were genuine cravings.

Did you find out what you are having?  Explain why (either way)…

At 12 weeks we had a private scan and found out that our third little squidger would probably be a girl. This was confirmed at our 20 week scan when we named our developing daughter Matilda May.  I have called her by her name ever since and I love it.  I wanted to know as with Esther and William it really helped me to bond with them.  It has done the same with Matilda May. I cannot wait to meet my little girl.
